Good health is combination of good habits and this is no exception for good dental health too. For good health you (and we all) should follow some good and healthy habits. If you have more good habits than other individuals you will be healthier than others. But we ignore some common good habits and do not follow them. Good is generally simple and very easy to follow.
Brush your teeth before bedtime:
This is one of the good health habits a person can have for healthy teeth. Brushing your teeth after every meal and of course before going to bed is the best way to keep your dental health good. But unfortunately very few of us brush after every meal. If you can not brush after every meal make sure to brush after breakfast and before going to bed and this habit can keep your teeth and dental health good. More than two third of people have some dental health problem and most of these problems are due to not following simple habits such as brushing after meal and before going to bed. Regular brushing prevents plaque formation and tooth decay and also help in preventing gum diseases.
Replace your tooth brush every few months (at least after three to four months). Select your brush after consulting your dentist. You may need hard, medium or soft bristles, which your dentist will decide for you. Visit your dentist every six months, which is the recommendation for good dental health.
Regular brushing of your teeth also prevent bad odor from mouth (known as halitosis) and infection of oral cavity and gums. Halitosis is one of the commonest dental health problems worldwide and account for large number of visits to dentists. With regular brushing you should be able to prevent halitosis.
If you are not already following the above good habits I mentioned, make sure to follow them from today. Never decide to follow from tomorrow, because tomorrow never comes; when it comes it is already today. Start following good habits from now and right now.
